Chris grew up on the beaches north of San Diego and spent most of his efforts either planning surf trips to Mexico or practicing the drum kit. He went to college without a plan and ended up in a cubicle 5 years later. After 18 months he walked away from it and didn't put a rudder back into the sea of life until he discovered commercial photography. Instead of returning to college, Chris moved to the suburbs of Detroit and worked as a 1st assistant and studio manager for several commercial studios.

On his way back to the beaches of California, Chris stopped in Champaign and sprouted a family. To support his new team, he opened a commercial studio 2,053 miles from the beach and began providing photography for such clients as ADM, Litania Sports Group, Libman Brooms and UIUC.

Chris works on each category of subject—people, objects and environment—which pose unique challenges in terms of lighting and composition. If there's any visual cue in particular he's attracted to, it would be elements of classic design—structure, order and simplicity.
