How Did Art Like Champaign?

While Art Chantry was in Champaign, a group fans gave him the VIP treatment and made sure his stay here was fun. Dana Buerkett, local Ad Club president, was kind enough to arrange for his hotel room at Hawthorn Suites. Parkland graphic design program alumni Anni Poppen picked him up at the airport and took him out to dinner at Radio Maria. Parkland Art Gallery director Lisa Costello took him out to lunch at the Esquire Lounge. Geoff Merritt arranged for a party in his honor at Parasol Records. And Paul Young took him out to dinner at Sam's Cafe before dropping him off at the Amtrak station.

When we asked Art whether he would ever come back to Champaign, he said "absolutely." Below are pictures from the events surrounding Art Chantry's visit to Champaign. All photos are by Ricki Moore (except as noted).
